Torino have made a strong start to life back in Serie A following a three-year absence and will be hopeful of continuing their good form at home to bottom of the table Cagliari on Sunday (2pm, BST).
The Turin side held onto the majority of the squad that led them to promotion last season and have looked a well drilled, harmonious outfit in the early weeks of the campaign. Last weekend’s superb 5-1 win away to Atalanta moved them up to sixth in the table, with two wins, three draws and one defeat to their name.
Cagliari, on the other hand, have been particularly poor so far, gaining just two points from their opening six fixtures. They have only found the back of the net on three occasions and have conceded 11 times – a ratio that is never likely to bring much success.
Massimo Ficcadenti paid for the club’s substandard start to the campaign with his job in the build up to this weekend’s fixture and it will therefore be Ivo Pulga who graces the away dugout on Sunday. It is Pulga’s first senior coaching position and he has his work cut out to extricate better performances from a squad that, on talent alone, should not be propping up the table.
Torino v Cagliari Betting Tips
Sunday’s match is likely to come too early for Pulga to make any discernible impact, so with the home team in good form we would suggest backing Torino to win @ evens (1/1) with Pinnacle Sports Bookmaker. The next best price is only a shade shorter @ 20/21 with BetVictor.
