Serie A: Palermo v Juventus

Palermo are undefeated in six matches at the Stadio Renzo Barbera but will face a tough time keeping that record intact when they host league leaders Juventus on Sunday (2pm GMT, live on ESPN).

The Sicilians are 16th in the Serie A table with three wins, five draws and seven defeats to their name. After losing four and drawing one of their opening five matches they have picked up 13 points in the next 10 to pull just clear of the relegation places.

The Palermo players appear to be warming to Gian Piero Gasperini’s techniques. Chronically bad away form still threatens to derail their attempts to move up the table, with each positive home result followed by a negative one on the road.

Sunday’s opponents Juventus are having no such problems, winning five of seven away matches and losing just once, a 1-0 defeat to AC Milan two weekend’s ago. They are two points clear at the top of the table with a goal difference six better than any of their challengers.

Victory away to Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday sealed their progression to the knockout stages of the Champions League. With confidence high and no major injuries to speak of, Juventus will be optimistic of coming away from Sicily with all three points.

This Preview’s Betting Tip: Palermo have only lost once at home all season, but Juventus are in excellent form, have won 72% of their away matches so far this season and are attractively priced to record another win on Sunday. Back Juventus to win @ 7/10 with BetVictor, William Hill or Paddy Power.
