Serie A: Bologna v Parma

Bologna tackle Parma at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Saturday (14:00 GMT) seeking to continue their solid home form so far this season and move up towards the coattails of the top ten.

The Rossoblu are 13th in the Serie A table with 18 points from 17 matches and although they are not performing at the level they did during last season’s ninth place finish, they are at least proving difficult to beat at home.

Bologna have won three, drawn three and lost two of their home matches to date, the two defeats coming courtesy of the two Milan clubs. They were impressive in all three victories, sweeping aside Palermo 3-0 and Catania 4-0, and defeating Atalanta 2-1.

Saturday’s opponents Parma have really struggled away from home so far, recording just one victory, two draws and six defeats. They have conceded in every one of their away matches to date.

Parma are undefeated at home (five wins, three draws) and have a good squad that should be capable of replicating last season’s eighth place finish, but they really need to get their act together away from the Stadio Ennio Tardini if they want to achieve that goal.

This Preview’s Betting Tip: Bologna do have an extensive injury list, but have still managed to go undefeated in their last five matches in all competitions. They have a good home record and are the favourites to emerge victorious from Saturday’s encounter.

Parma will be without their ever-present Argentinian defender Gabriel Paletta, further weakening a backline who are yet to keep a clean sheet on their travels this season. They have been poor away from home and we suggest backing Bologna to win @ 7/5 with Blue Square.
