Serie A: AC Milan v Siena

AC Milan take on bottom of the table Siena on Sunday (2pm GMT) looking to get back to winning ways following defeat to Roma in their final match of 2012.

Milan started the season very poorly, picking up just seven points from their first eight matches, but have performed better over the last couple of months: six wins, two draws and two defeats helping them move up to seventh.

This improvement in form came following a switch to a 4-3-3 formation. Milan had offered little offensive threat earlier in the season, but with Kevin Prince Boateng, Stephan El Shaarawy and Robinho interchanging up front have become a far more dynamic and dangerous side in the final third.

Those are certainly not adjectives that could be used to describe the attack of Siena, who have scored just 16 times so far this season – the second-worst record in Serie A.

The Tuscan club are currently rooted to the bottom of the table with just 11 points from their 18 matches to date. Although it must be noted that their total includes a deduction of six points for match fixing offences and is therefore not entirely representative of their campaign thus far.

Siena have, though, lost four of their last five matches and have struggled away from home, recording a solitary victory, two draws and five defeats.

Betting Tip: AC Milan had won four on the bounce prior to the 4-2 loss to Roma. They will be confident of defeating a poor Siena side who have been defeated by two or more goals in each of their last four Serie A matches.
