Palermo are winless so far this season, but will get few better chances to put three points on the board than the visit on Sunday (2pm, BST) of a Chievo side who have lost their last four matches.
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini is notoriously impatient with the coaches he employs and it took just three matches – one draw and two defeats – for him to discard Giuseppe Sannino. He replaced him with the former Genoa and Inter coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
Two further defeats have followed, but Gasperini has at least tightened up a defence that had conceded seven times under Sannino, losing 1-0 in both of his matches in charge. His next task is to work on a misfiring forward line as Palermo have scored just once all season.
Chievo recorded a solid 2-0 win at home to Bologna on the opening day of the season, but have lost all four of their subsequent matches by two goals, scoring just once and conceding nine times in the process. They did face Lazio, Juventus and Inter Milan in this run of matches, but still clearly have problems finding the back of the net.
- Betting Tip: These two teams have managed just four goals between them all season. 70% of their matches have featured two or less goals. With this in mind, back under 2.5 goals @ biggest betting odds of 8/11 with Stan James.
