Inter Milan are currently enjoying an excellent run of form and will be hopeful of continuing their winning ways when they entertain Sampdoria at the San Siro on Wednesday (7.45pm GMT).
Inter have won seven matches on the bounce in all competitions, equalling the run the club went on under the legendary coach Helenio Herrera in the 1961-62 campaign. These superb results have coincided with a switch to a three-man central defence, a tactical change that has brought out the best in a number of the squad.
During this run, the Nerazzurri have scored 14 times whilst conceding just three. The new formation implemented by coach Andrea Stramaccioni has provided a nice balance between attack and defence and allowed Inter to rise to third in the league, just four points shy of leaders Juventus.
Their visitors, Sampdoria, returned to the top flight with a bang, winning all three of their opening matches, but have since gone six without a win, losing each of their last four. That the losing margin in all four was a solitary goal suggests they are still competing gamely, but are perhaps lacking that little bit of quality required to tip the balance at this level.
Our Preview’s Betting Tip: Inter are looking very good at the moment. The draw is best odds at 16/5 with Bet365 or BetVictor. Although Sampdoria (7/1 to win this game with BetVictor) will make a decent contest of Wednesday’s match, the home side have the necessary confidence and quality to emerge victorious.
- Therefore, back Inter Milan to win @ biggest betting odds of 4/7 with Stan James.
